The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that if the current drought continues for another month, it will be a problem to continuously supply water to certain areas.
Water demand has increased by about 15% due to the prevailing hot weather.
Its Deputy General Manager Development, Anoja Kaluarachi said that the water level in the water sources will be sufficient for another 02 months.
He added that if such a situation arises, some areas may have to be supplied with water on a shift basis.
