Ten second-year students of Wayamba University Faculty of Technology recently (09) were returning from a night camp at Alagalla mountain in Kegalle when one student fell down a cliff and met with an accident.
According to information received by the Sri Lanka Army Headquarters, the 611 Infantry Brigade and 8 Battalion of Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment were informed and quickly reached the location.
After that, the army troops, who came into action immediately, rescued the university student named Orington Andrado, a resident of Kalmunai, from the cliff and gave him first aid.
He was admitted to Mawanella Hospital for further treatment after being brought to the foot of the mountain.
