Dr. Saman Ratnayake, Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Health, who was remanded in connection with the purchase of substandard doses of human immunoglobulin injections, gave a 4-hour secret statement today before Maligakanda Magistrate Ms. Lochana Abeywickrama.
He gave the statement in the magistrate’s office after he had expressed his willingness to give a confidential statement on the previous court date.
Accordingly, Dr. Saman Ratnayake, who was kept in Mahara Prison separately from the other suspects in this incident, was brought to the court today from Mahara Prison.
