The National Election Commission has decided to inform the political parties about the Election Expenses Regulation Act passed by the Parliament last year.
Mr. RMAL Ratnayake, the chairman of the said commission, said that relevant information will be held on the 27th and 6th of March.
According to the Election Expenditure Regulation Act, election expenditure should be restricted.
However, after the passage of the Act, not a single election has been held.
As a result, the Chairman of the Election Commission stated that the meeting is being called with the aim of giving proper understanding to the politicians regarding the provisions of the relevant Act.
