It is reported that between 1000 and 1500 children are in prison for drug offenses nationwide.
Prison Commissioner Mr. Jagath Chandana Weerasinghe mentioned this while attending a ceremony held at a school in Galle Nagoda area.
He also revealed that 65% of those in prison have been accused of drug-related offences.
