The Ministry of Urban Development and Housing says that the call for development proposals has been started by focusing on 89 Divisional Secretariat Divisions in 10 districts of the island.
Its secretary Mr. WS Satyananda mentioned that 8900 million rupees have been allocated for the program named ‘Kandukara Dashakaya’.
Under this, the secretary stated that development programs are being implemented in Matale, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ratnapura, Kegalle, Kurunegala, Galle, Matara Badulla and Kalutara districts.
Before next 29th, development proposals should be submitted through rural committees.
The secretary said that proposals can be submitted for this purpose covering 10 areas such as rural access road development, health, sanitation, minor irrigation, livelihood development, potable water, education and internet facilities.
He mentioned that the release of funds for development projects will be done in March.
