According to Dr. Deepal Perera, Pediatrician of Lady Ridgeway Hospital, Colombo, due to the high temperature these days, dehydration and skin diseases have increased among children.
He points out that the symptoms caused by high temperature include headache, nausea, body aches, loss of appetite, insomnia, etc.
He also said that if children and adults work without drinking much water these days, they can get dehydrated.
The specialist also says that if you participate in running competitions, sports competitions etc. without drinking much water, you may even get heat shock conditions.
Skin conditions such as sweat blisters and eczema may increase on these days, so it is advisable to drink more water and natural liquid foods on these days.
The expert doctor points out that the color of the urine can change these days by not drinking too much water, and if the color of the urine becomes dark, it is advisable to drink more water.
He emphasized that it is appropriate to increase water-related activities for children to reduce skin diseases, that is, let the children play in the water for about 20 minutes in the morning and evening.
Pediatrician Dr. Deepal Perera said that due to the increase in dust and the environmental pollution reported in the foreign countries in the past, the polluted air came to Sri Lanka with the wind.
The doctor said to provide proper treatment to the children who are suffering from childhood asthma and also said to give more natural liquid food to the children.
The doctor also asked that one person in every house should plant at least one tree as this hot condition may continue for another 02 months.
