A Chief Incumbent monk is arrested for giving the contract to a kill monk

The Panadura Divisional Crime Investigation Unit has arrested the Chief Incumbent of a temple in Ingiriya who had given a contract worth Rs. 1.1 million to a driver for the murder of a monk living in same the temple.

The Chief Incumbent of the Deepaloka Temple in Ingiriya has been arrested, said Police Media Spokesman Senior DIG Ajith Rohana.

Ajith Rohana said that the driver who had accepted the contract had fled.

Police investigations have revealed that a dispute over the ownership of the temple has led to the murder contract.

Ajith Rohana stated that the officers of the Panadura Divisional Crime Investigation Unit are conducting further investigations.
