Today (5) the cabinet approved to invite investors for the cultivation of hemp in Sri Lanka.
This proposal has been submitted to the Cabinet following a proposal by the Minister of State for Tourism Mrs. Diana Gamage.
State Minister Mrs. Diana Gamage said that she is very happy that the bill, which was presented with the pure determination to uplift the country, got the approval of the cabinet.
Mrs. Diana said that although the Ayurveda Act in 1964 gave legal authority to the Ayurveda Commissioner to cultivate it adequately in the Ayurvedic field including Sri Lanka, there was no way to get foreign investment and earn dollars.
