Environment Minister Minister Keheliya Rambukwella has been arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department.
That is after questioning him for about 10 hours today.
He is going to be produced before Maligakanda Magistrate tonight.
Former Minister of Health Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella was thus questioned regarding the fraud of purchasing substandard human immunoglobulin.
The Maligakanda Magistrate’s Court ordered the Minister yesterday (01) to appear before the Criminal Investigation Department and give a statement regarding the related incident. The foreign travel of the minister was also banned.
He had been summoned to give a statement to the Criminal Investigation Department the day before yesterday. Due to his absence, the court had given the order yesterday.
