    A Suspect Escaped from a Cell in Dambulla Court

    A suspect who was arrested by the officers of Dambulla Police’s anti-corruption unit along with drugs and taken to Dambulla Court has escaped from the judicial cell.

    The Sergeant in charge of court affairs of the anti-corruption division attached to the Dambulla Police Station has taken four suspects to the Dambulla Magistrate’s Court for the cases to be heard yesterday. At the court, the handcuffs of the suspects were removed and they were locked in the cell in the court.

    This sergeant then went to hand over the B reports to the court officer to present the suspects to the court and when he came back, he saw that the locks of the cell were opened. It has been revealed that one of the suspects who was brought to the place has fled.

    Police say that the suspect is a 34-year-old resident of Kandalama, Dambulla who was arrested with 2650 mg of heroin.
