The Election Commission has issued a gazette notification appointing a new member of parliament to the post of former state minister Sanath Nishantha.
Accordingly, Mr. Jagath Priyankara has been appointed to the position of MP representing the Puttalam constituency.
Mr. Sanath Nishantha passed away recently due to a car accident.
