Red Warrants for 4 Sri Lankans abroad who Allegedly Support Al-Qaeda Terrorists

The Colombo Additional Magistrate yesterday (26) ordered the issuance of a red warrant in English for the arrest of 4 Sri Lankans who are said to be currently abroad on suspicion of aiding and abetting the Al-Qaeda terrorist organization.

These red notices have been issued as per a request from the Terrorist Investigation Division (TID).

These red warrants are issued to suspects residing in the Kaleliya, and Kalagedihena areas.

They are said to be currently residing in Australia and Syria, and warrants have been issued against two persons including father and son from the same family.

The Terrorist Investigation Division has filed cases against 16 suspects in 2021, out of which four have been issued red warrants.

This action has been taken against four persons namely Ahmed Khalil Luqman Talib, Ahman Luqman Haleen, Abdul Bahin Mohammad Lebbe, and Mohammad Pahir Ripon.
