Public inspectors have decided to conduct an emergency inspection of all canteens inside trains.
Mr. Shanaka Bopitiya, Secretary of the Sri Lanka Public Inspectors Association stated that the decision was taken after it was observed that the canteen of the Meenagaya train was being run in an unsanitary condition during the recent inspection.
Accordingly, measures have been taken to suspend the cafeteria compartment of the Meenagaya train temporarily based on a court order.
