Mr. Buddhika Iddamalgoda, President of the Paddy Marketing Board, stated that the Paddy Marketing Board made a profit like this after 14 years.
The chairman also said that another 2 billion will be taken from the Farmers’ Trust Fund at a concessional interest rate to buy paddy this season.
The money will be used to purchase paddy in the upcoming maha season.
