The Human Rights Commission of Sri Lanka has decided to start an investigation regarding the ‘Aswasuma’ program that caused a great controversy.
Its commissioner lawyer Mr. Nimal Punchihewa mentioned that many complaints have been received in this regard.
Meanwhile, Acting Finance Minister Mr. Shehan Semasinghe says that another 3 lakh families have qualified for inclusion in the relief.
Accordingly, the number of families receiving relief benefits has exceeded 17 lakhs, the Acting Finance Minister pointed out.
