The implementation of the government’s decision to open a tax file in several cases, including the purchase of a car since January 1st has been postponed.
Earlier, the Ministry of Finance had announced that opening a tax file during the registration of vehicles, obtaining income licenses and purchasing property would be mandatory from January 1st.
The Minister of State for Finance Mr. Ranjith Siambalapitiya says that there has been a delay in the public registering for the process of opening tax files.
He said that in order to give more time to that, he took steps to postpone the implementation of the relevant decision by about a month.
