Central Bank Governor Mr. Nandalal Weerasinghe says that economically the country is still not in good hands in all respects.

He points out that the country has only achieved some stability due to the economic crisis.

Therefore, when the economic growth rate in this country reaches 4%-5%, it can be said that the country is in normal hands, the Governor of the Central Bank said.

He emphasizes that it is necessary to implement another comprehensive program in the medium term while maintaining the existing program at a stable level.

The Governor of the Central Bank recalled that the year 2022 was an economic crisis caused by the complete loss of the country’s reserves.

The Governor of the Central Bank explained that an economic crisis may occur in the future, but in order not to fall into the same crisis again, the country’s external reserves must have been built up.
