Dollar Reserves Rise More Than the Expected Level

By the end of 2023, the country’s gross official reserves are expected to exceed 4 billion US dollars, the government says.

This month, Sri Lanka received the second tranche of USD 337 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), USD 200 million from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) for various programs and USD 250 million from the World Bank.

Accordingly, these financial facilities amounting to 787 million US dollars will be used to strengthen the upcoming budget and stabilize the external financial situation of the country.

The Ministry of Finance says that this situation is higher than expected by the government of this country.
