It has been decided to close the road through the Udawalawa Dam and steps have been taken to temporarily close it from today (15).
It is due to an essential maintenance work.
The Mahaweli Authority of Sri Lanka has announced that the road will be closed in several stages until next January 15.
Accordingly, the above road will be completely closed from today (15) to December 22.
One lane will be closed from December 23 to January 6.
Also, the road will be completely closed from January 7th to January 14th.
The road is scheduled to be fully reopened to traffic on January 15.
It is informed that during the road closure period, the road from Udawalawa to Embilipitiya to the 13th post can be used as an alternative route.
