A Successful STF Operation Netted a lot of Drugs, Fake Guns and a Drug Dealer

Officers of the Jayawardenepura camp of the Police Special Task Force have arrested two addicts who were ready to rob a female drug dealer of one crore rupees to buy drugs.

The two robbers had carried a fake army ID card and a toy pistol to scare the drug dealer.

Based on the information revealed by the two robbers, the officers of the special task force have been able to arrest the drug trafficker and another person with nearly one crore money and drugs.

Special Task Force Commanding Officer Senior DIG Advocate Mr. Varuna Jayasundara, on the guidance of Director (Special Weapons and Tactics/Combat Motorcycles) Superintendent of Police RPKD Ratnaweera, According to the security plan of the Special Task Force attached to Jayawardenepura Camp deployed due to the Homicides and Organized Crime Activities in the Island, a team of officers including Police Inspector of D-Zone Group MDT Madapata of arrested this group in a raid under the New Kelani flyover on Sedawatta road in Ambatale, Grandpass Police Domain.

Officers of the Combat Motorcycle Team were on a motorcycle tour duty in Thotalanga, Sedawatta area and after checking two suspicious motorcycles, one person was found in possession of 07 grams 370 milligrams of heroin and a plastic pistol weapon, and a necklace with a piece of white tag with Special Force logo, name with initials and blood type of the suspect.

The Special Task Force mentions that the photos with the person’s face are included in the fake ID photos, and the photos of him wearing uniforms in various security departments were found while checking that person’s mobile phone. During the questioning of these two persons, information has been revealed that they are ready to rob a three-wheeler and that a large amount of money and heroin are being transported in that vehicle.

Accordingly, the Special Task Force has kept an eye on the three-wheeler that transports drugs.

The three-wheeler has been checked at Nalagam Street, Totalanga.

A woman came with the driver of that three-wheeler and the woman had 06 grams 497 milligrams of heroin, and nearly one crore rupees in her possession.

Accordingly, the woman and the driver were arrested and handed over to the Grandpass police station along with the two people who were initially arrested.

The Special Task Force states that the suspects are between the ages of 26-43 and are residents of Kaleliya, Wellampitiya, Uswatakeiyawa, Colombo 14, and Ratmalana.
