The government says that sugar will be sold to the people under a limit of Rs 275 through Sathosa and selected stores for a month.

In a special statement, Trade Minister Nalin Fernando said today (20) that the government decided to distribute the raw sugar stock that had been imported under the 25 cent tax.

After that, there is no need for sugar control price, he said.

This decision was reached during today’s discussion between the sugar importers and the trade minister.

With the recent move to increase the sugar import duty from 25 cents per kilogram to 50 rupees, there was an unusual shortage of sugar in the market and a huge increase in sugar prices.

The government imposed the control price along with the related tax price increase.

However, it is reported that there is currently a shortage of sugar in the country.
