The Minister of Public Defense Rear Admiral Sarath Weerasekera has decided to visit the police stations and find solutions to the shortcomings in the police stations.
Accordingly, the Bulathkohupitiya, Yatiyantota and Kitulgala police stations in the Kegalle District were inspected by the Minister. The Minister has inspected the barracks of the officers, toilets and even restaurants of those police stations.
The Minister then discussed with the officials the duty issues they face and service requirements. Top officials have been able to get information about many problems in the police that had not been brought to the notice of the Minister until then.
Kegalle District Parliamentarian Rajika Wickramasinghe, Senior DIG Priyantha Weerasuriya and several other senior police officers were present at the occasion.
