Sports Minister Roshan Ranasinghe states that the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has requested the International Cricket Council (ICC) to ban Sri Lankan cricket.
Attending a press conference today (19), the minister said that this is an attempt to betray the country.
The minister stated this while quoting a letter issued by Sri Lanka Cricket on 7th November 2023.
With the announcement of the recent suspension of Sri Lanka Cricket’s membership by the International Cricket Council, ESPNcricinfo, an India-based sports news website dedicated exclusively to cricket, reported that the decision was influenced by Sri Lanka Cricket.
