The Batticaloa Police have arrested three persons who stole a stock of Triposha worth over 100,000 rupees from a railway compartment transporting Triposha which was parked at the Batticaloa railway station.
The police say that this Triposha stock brought from Colombo was stolen between the last 06th and 07th.
Police say that 05 bags containing 150 Triposha packets have been stolen. A complaint was received in this regard yesterday. According to the investigation, the police said that three residents of Batticaloa were arrested. According to the information revealed during their questioning, a part of the stolen triposha has also been recovered.
Police say that the complaint regarding this theft has been submitted by the administrative officer of the Batticaloa Medical Officer of Health office.
