A 16-year-old boy fell from the third floor of the Serpentine apartment complex in Borella and was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Colombo National Hospital in a serious condition yesterday.
This child is a resident of Borella Magazine Road. Police information revealed that this child is addicted to drugs. The child had gone to a house on the third floor of the Serpentine apartment complex where he used to use drugs.
When the mother came home and checked, the child was not at home, so she searched the houses located in the Serpentine housing complex and found the child. The police say that when the mother came to the house and knocked on the door, the child opened a window at the back of the house, stepped out of it tried to climb down with the help of the cement grill on the wall and fell to the ground.
It is said that this child fell on the ground, injured his head and fell on the ground in a pool of blood, but no one even came forward to take him to the hospital. Locals say that the child was taken to the hospital in a three-wheeler after a long time.
