The Ministry of Agriculture has decided to provide free diesel worth 17,000 rupees to the farmers for cultivation purposes.
Accordingly, this concession is given to the farmers who suffered crop damage in the last Yala season for their cultivation activities in the main season.
The relevant relief is provided in addition to the 15,000 rupees allowance given to the farmers for purchasing fertiliser.
According to statistics, 65,000 acres of cultivated land in the last Yala season has been destroyed due to drought.
