According to the National Dengue Control Unit of the Ministry of Health, about 66,500 dengue patients are currently reported in the country.
Director Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne stated that 39 patients have died due to dengue disease.
He also mentioned that dengue cases have increased in several areas of the island due to the rainy conditions.
Dr. Nalin Ariyaratne, Director General of the National Dengue Control Unit, said that dengue cases are commonly reported in Kandy Municipal Council area, Ganga wata Korale area, Colombo, Nugegoda, Gothatuwa, Gampaha and Atnagalla.
