During his official visit to China, President Ranil Wickremesinghe participated in significant discussions with China’s Finance Minister Lan Foan and Chinese Vice Premier Ding Xuexiang.
These discussions took place as part of the ongoing ‘Belt and Road Initiative’ (BRI) global forum for international cooperation in Beijing. The talks centered around matters of mutual importance and cooperation between Sri Lanka and China.
Sri Lanka, currently undergoing a debt restructuring program, considers China, its second largest creditor, as a key partner in these efforts. The meetings highlighted diplomatic efforts to strengthen ties and promote collaboration between the two nations.
