The nurses’ strike had disrupted the program at 45 hospitals in the Western Province, which had planned to administer covid vaccines to seniors over the age of 60.
Meanwhile, a group of people who had come to the Ragama Teaching Hospital and several others to receive vaccinations had to go home empty handed, health sources said.
It is reported that many people were present at the injection centers situated away from the hospitals in the Colombo district and there was not even a proper distance between them.
