The Department of Wildlife Conservation has announced the opening of Ratnapura Sri Pada Road and Nallathanni Road for off-season visitors to Sri Pada.
To facilitate this, license issuing windows have been set up at specific locations. The Pawanella police post on the Sri Pada road in Ratnapura now has a license issuing window, while the Nallathanni license issuing window can be found at the Nallathanni site security office.
These license windows operate daily from 6 pm to 10 am the following day.
Wildlife officials maintain continuous vigilance over the behavior of tourists entering the reserve. Additionally, during the off-season, roads such as Kuruwita, Dehenakanda, and Marigoda are closed, and access to the reserve from these routes is prohibited.
The Department of Wildlife Conservation has also emphasized that legal action will be taken under the Wildlife and Flora Protection Ordinance against tourists who enter the Sripada Reserve without the necessary permits.
