The issuance of vehicle revenue licenses is set to be temporarily suspended due to a necessary update of the vehicle revenue issuing computer system. This suspension will be in effect from September 27, 2023, to October 26, 2023. The system update is being administered by the Sri Lanka Information and Communication Technology Agency.
For vehicle owners with revenue licenses expiring on or after September 26, 2023, there will be a grace period for renewal without incurring penalties. They are allowed to renew their licenses until October 10, 2023.
Additionally, Mrs. K Champa N Perera, Secretary of the Ministry of Road Transport, Western Province, has announced that the option to obtain vehicle revenue licenses online through the website www.motortraffic.wp.gov.lk will also be temporarily suspended. This suspension will be effective from midnight on September 24, 2023, until October 6, 2023.
These measures have been put in place to facilitate the necessary system updates and maintenance for the efficient functioning of the vehicle revenue licensing process.
