The Weligama Police say that five Sri Lankans attacked a German and a Spaniard at a party held at a tourist hotel in Palane, Weligama.
The injured Nicklaus, a 23-year-old German national, is being treated at Matara General Hospital. The 24-year-old Spaniard, Juan, was injured but did not need to be hospitalized, police were told.
The police have arrested three of the five people involved in the attack yesterday morning (12). Weligama Police say that all three of them are tourism businessmen.
