Minister of Health Keheliya Rambukwella says that the Cabinet has approved the establishment of 3 private medical colleges.
The minister further said that permission has been given to establish these new medical colleges in accordance with the standards of the medical faculties currently operating in the country.
The universities have also expressed their agreement to provide scholarships to 10% of the students.
