The Iginiyagala police arrested the relative along with the main bodyguard of Digamadulla MP WD Weerasinghe yesterday (05) for assaulting a 15-year-old student together with his relative.
This attack happened yesterday (04). The child is a resident of Iginiyagala Dewalahinna, Galkanda area.
According to a complaint made by the child’s mother to the police regarding this assault, the police have conducted investigations and arrested the two suspects.
The police say that the child who was attacked is being treated in Ampara hospital.
After producing the two suspects in court, they were released on bail of one lakh rupees each.
