Drought has destroyed 60,000 acres of crops

According to the Ministry of Agriculture, 60,503 acres of paddy and other crops have been damaged this year due to severe drought.

Due to this, 55,951 farmers have been affected.

According to a report issued by the ministry, the amount of crop damage reported in the Hambantota district is gradually increasing.

Accordingly, the area of crop damage reported in the Hambantota district is 4,479 acres.

Currently, the highest amount of crop damage is reported from Kurunegala district, and it is said that the amount is 26,644 acres.

Secondly, the highest amount of crop damage is reported from the Udawalawa area.

That amount of area is 14,667 acres.
