The fourth Randoli Perahera of the Senkadagala Esala Perahera Festival is scheduled to take place today (29) night.
At the auspicious moment of fifteen minutes past seven o’clock, the Sri Dalada procession joins the street tour with the processions of the four great temples of Natha, Vishnu, Kataragama and Pattini.
The procession leaving from Dalada Street will come along Yatinuwara Street, Cross Street, Kotugodella Street, Kanda Street, DS Senanayake Street and return to Sri Dalada Palace from Raja Street.
The third Randoli Perahera of the Esala Perahera Festival toured the streets yesterday (28) where the Sacred tooth relic was carried by the Kandula tusker of the Kelani Rajamaha Viharaya. Dele was traveled by Miyanraja and Sinharaja elephants.
A large number of people participated to watch the procession yesterday and more than a thousand Maha Sangharatna also joined to watch the procession.
With the intervention of the Akurana Divisional Secretariat, the distribution of rice parcels to the devotees who came to watch the procession took place at Dalada Street in Kandy with the participation of Kandy District Secretary Mr. Chandana Thennakone and Akurana Divisional Secretary Mrs. Indika Abeysinghe.
The Ice Cream Dansala organized by the Indian Assistant High Commission in Kandy was held in front of Sri Dalada Palace.
