Sri Lanka as a country has not taken any steps to deal with climate and weather changes, emphasizes Mrs. Methika Withanage, Professor of Natural Resources at the University of Sri Jayawardenepura.
The professor added that if proper measures are not taken for water management, the people of this country will have to face a severe problem in the future.
The professor emphasizes that the main reason for this is the lack of responsibility and accountability in the politics of this country.
She also mentions that this problem is exacerbated by the ministers taking decisions at their whims.
