Examination Commissioner General Amith Jayasundara said that examination certificates applied for verification by the Ministry of External Affairs will be sent to the Ministry online.
The Commissioner General of Examinations also said that this system will be applicable to the General Certificate of Education Ordinary Level and Advanced Level examinations held after 2001.
He said that instead of the hard copy of the certificate, a digital copy of the examination certificate verified by the Ministry of External Affairs will also be forwarded to the applicant’s email address.
The Commissioner General also said that the applicant will be informed about this process by text messages from the time of receiving the requests from the examination department.
