A police constable working at the police station established for the protection of the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic has stolen the bank card from the wallet of a fellow police officer and stole 105,000 rupees.
According to a complaint received by the Kandy Police, the police arrested the suspected police constable who stole the bank card.
His bank card and 75,000 rupees of stolen money were found there.
This constable was arrested yesterday. The Kandy Assistant Superintendent of Police has also taken steps to suspend this constable.
