President Ranil Wickremesinghe has left for India this afternoon for a two-day visit.
It is according to an invitation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
On the occasion of 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries, the President is also scheduled to hold talks with Indian President Draupadi Murmu.
During this visit, discussions are also going to be held with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials on improving bilateral relations and exploring mutual interests.
