1st organ retrieval surgery ever in the history of BH Udugama was successfully completed with the immence support of all the staff involved throughout the process. Special thanks goes to the great contribution of Consultant Anasthetic Dr.Prashanthan and Consultant physician Dr.Lakmal Vithanage for confirming brain death of the Donor which is a very difficult task not usually happen in government sector. We are extending our gratitude to the ICU staff and the theater staff for their commitment in this process.
It is my duty to thank Consultant Viralogist at Teaching Hospital Karapitiya, for doing necessary investigation within short period of time and thankfull to our laboratory staff cordination. Also, we must thankful to the national organ retrival team came from Colombo.
At last not least I specialiy appreciate Dr.Sanduni MO ICU, transplant coordinator for her excellent coordination and fullest support to succeed this process. Finally we all should appreciate the decision of donating live organs of their relative who is being treated at the ICU BH Udugama.
