720 million compensation for the fishing community due to the loss from Express Pearl

The Insurance Company of the ship has agreed to pay Rs. 720 million in the first installment for the loss incurred by the Sri Lankan fishing community due to the loss of the Express Pearl ship which caught fire in Sri Lankan waters.

The agreement was signed by P&I Club, a maritime insurance company based in London.

Accordingly, this compensation will be paid in the first installment for the losses incurred by the fishing community up to June 1, 2021.
