Australian media outlets state that the authorities, including the police have been surprised by a mysterious unidentified spherical object piled up on a beach in Australia.
Locals had managed to find this large metal object in a beach just 250 kilometers north of Perth.
The report also states that state and federal authorities are currently investigating this object and are trying to ascertain what it is.
The relevant object is considered dangerous by the authorities, and the police have asked the public to keep a safe distance.“We want to assure the community that we are actively engaged in a cooperative effort with various state and federal agencies to determine the origin and nature of the object,” police said in a statement.
Residents of Green Head Beach said the cylinder was 2.5 meters wide and between 2.5 to 3 meters long. Meanwhile, the Australian media had also reported that a large number of people came to see the object piled up on the beach.
Aviation expert Jeffrey Thomas said the item could be a fuel tank from a rocket that fell into the Indian Ocean at some point in the past 12 months.
The Australian Space Agency said they are working with other international agencies to confirm whether the giant cylinder was “part of a foreign space-launched vehicle”.
