President Ranil Wickramasinghe said in a discussion held with health officials that the regulations should be amended to enable the recruitment of nurses who have studied arts stream for nursing training.
The President has also said in this discussion that the Ministry of Health should ensure that there is no delay in getting medicines to the people.
President Ranil Wickramasinghe has stated during the discussion regarding the issues related to the health sector that there is a need for transparency about all the medicines available in this country.
The President also said that the websites run by the Ministry of Health should provide data on the amount of drugs each hospital has and the total amount of drugs that can be obtained on a daily basis.
It was emphasized that through this networking process, there will be an opportunity to exchange medicines between hospitals.
