The Central Bank of Sri Lanka has suspended further foreign exchange activities for 15 companies.
Accordingly, the Central Bank informs the public that buying, selling and exchanging foreign currency with the following companies is considered as a violation of the provisions of the Foreign Exchange Act.
This step has been taken in accordance with the decision of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka not to renew the money exchange licenses issued to the following fifteen money exchangers for the year 2023 due to non-compliance with a condition of the money exchange licenses issued for the year 2022.
The Central Bank also said that it was informed to the concerned companies on 22.02.2023.
