A group of people who had come from Madurankuliya to Norochcholai for a picnic were enjoying swimming on Alankudawa beach, and two of them drowned and died.
Norochcholai Police said that the accident happened yesterday evening.
A 21-year-old man and a 66-year-old man have died.
A group of relatives from the same family participated in this trip.
