Yesterday (18) a development officer working at Ambanpola Maha Vidyalaya was arrested by Nikaveratiya Divisional Criminal Investigation Bureau officers with 08 domestically produced firearms used for hunting animals.
According to the information received by the Nikaveratiya Divisional Crime Investigation Bureau officers, during the inspection of a house where she resides in the Ranoruwa area of Ambanpola, these 08 firearms were found hidden under a bed in the house.
The raid was conducted following an investigation based on information that the woman and her husband were selling Game meat (Dadamas) together.
