Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena stated in Parliament today (24) that there will be no opportunity to do anything outside the law regarding the incident of the woman who died while in Welikada police custody.
He said this in response to MP Mano Ganesan’s request that the death was suspicious and that the body should be exhumed and an independent investigation conducted.
Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena said:
“Mr. Mano Ganesan, we informed you about the matter you raised over the phone. There is no room for it outside the law. Your matters have been sent to the necessary affairs.”
