According to the National Dengue Control Unit, 22 people have died due to dengue.
7 out of them have been reported from the Western Province.
The National Dengue Control Unit states that the districts of Kandy, Kurunegala, Kegalle and Galle have also seen a significant increase in cases.
Currently, the National Dengue Control Unit has implemented many special programs to prevent the unexpected increase in cases.
The number of dengue cases reported to the National Dengue Control Unit from the 1st of January this year to this morning (16) is 33,742.
Of these, 7,017 patients have been reported from the Colombo district, 7,602 patients from the Gampaha district, and 1,984 patients from the Kalutara district.
